Course Description

This course introduces the basic concepts and skills of mathematics for grade 3 students.

The course covers topics such as numbers up to 10,000, addition and subtraction up to 4 digits, multiplication and division, and money. The course also provides opportunities for students to practice and apply their mathematical thinking through word problems and review activities.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Read, write, and compare numbers up to 10,000
  • Add and subtract numbers up to 4 digits using various strategies
  • Solve addition and subtraction word problems up to 4 digits
  • Understand and use borrowing in subtraction
  • Recall and apply the multiplication and division facts up to 10
  • Solve multiplication and division word problems using various strategies
  • Multiply and divide by 7, 8, and 9 using patterns and properties
  • Recognize and count Philippine peso bills and coins
  • Solve money word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
