Celebrating 100th Day of the Year

Happy 100th day of the year!

It’s amazing to think that we’ve already completed 100 days of 2023. So much has happened so far!

From a math point of view, the number 100 occurs in many different situations.

Here are 5 activities that you can share with your student to get to know more about 100.

  1. 100 is a perfect square (10 x 10); it’s also the sum of the first nine prime numbers; and, it’s also a very important place value used for percentages.  What your favorite number?

  2. There is the 100-meter dash in track and field. It’s also the number of points in a perfect game of bowling.  Have you ever run the 100-meter dash or bowled?

  3. On a test, a 100 is a perfect score. It means 100% which is equal to 1 whole.  Have you ever gotten 100% on a test?

  4. Someone who is 100 or older is a centenarian. This is an amazing milestone. What is the oldest person that you know.

  5. And, 100 can refer to a century, a period of 100 years. What happened 100 years ago?
